Ànnia Fuentes i Burch – Recorder
After many years “playing around” with flute, the game ended when, at the age of 18, she began her formal musical training with Prof. Sara Parés at Conservatori de Música Isaac Albéniz (Girona). Just two years later she entered the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (Barcelona) to study wuth renowned performer and musicologist Pedro Memelsdorff.
Ànnia´s interpretative goals are cure of sound, precise articulation and careful work of small details. Sample of this effor are the results obteined with the Ensemble Tendres Fruits where, together with fellow flutist Tonatiuh Cortés, wich has specialized in interpretation of late XVIIIth century repertoire.
Now going trough the final stretch of her studies, she hopes to continue the research and study of historical interpretative approach, but above all, continue to enjoy her “flute games”.
Tonatiuh Cortés – Recorder
As a child, he dreames of being a singer, but with the voice change had no choice but to opt for the recorder. Tonatiuh studied with Prof. María Díez-Canedo at the Escuela Nacional de Música in Mexico, graduating in 2004 with Honorable Mention. During his studies he won a scholarship to major festivals in the United Sates and France. In 2004 he entered the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (Barcelona), where he is studying nowadays with Prof. Pedro Memelsdorff.
The obsession for technical aspects of the instrument leads to precision and technical purity always present in his interpretations. Having performed in Mexico and Europe, he has participated at the Festival del Camino de Santiago (Jaca) and Festival de México en el Centro Histórico.
Since 2007 he focuses on the study of late XVIIIth century repertoire for the recorder, together with Ànnia Fuentes in Ensemble Tendres Fruits. Who knows what had happened if he would have succeeded as a singer…
Tomoko Matsuoka – Harpsichord
Born in Tokio, she begun to become familiar with piano since early childhood, by his mother´s hand. Years later, his passion drifted to the harpsichord and its repertoire. At the age of 18 she decides to move to Milan to study this instrument with E. Fadini at the Scuola Musicale and chamber music at the Civica Scuola di Musica. In 2005, directed by R. Gini, she got the diploma “Laboratorio di Ricerca sulla Musica Italiana del XVII sec.” with highest honors at the Accademia di Musica F. Gaffurio (Lodi). Subsequently, in 2008 she sutided with Giovanni Togni at the Conservatorio G. Verdi (Como) where she graduated with highest recognition and Honorable Mention. Throughout these years, she is broadening her tuition attending masterclasses by O. Dantone, K. Gilbert, J.V. Immerseel and M. Mayerson.
The skill and refinement in execution made her worthy of the third prize in prestigious International Harpsichord Competition in Bruges (Belgium), 2007. A year later she published her first monograph CD devoted to Scarlatti sonatas.
Today, after a course at the Conservatory G. Verdi, she combines her concert activities in Europe and Japan with a stay in Barcelona, where she continues to porsue her great passion: the study of the harpsichord.
